UniSat, a Bitcoin wallet provider, cautions users about counterfeit Apple iOS app

UniSat has issued a warning to users regarding a malicious Bitcoin wallet found on Apple’s app store. The fake app, called “unisatWallet,” is created by Zunyi Yibai Network Technology and aims to steal users’ assets by gaining access to their private keys and seed phrases. It is unclear how long the app has been available on the app store, and the individuals behind Zunyi Yibai have not been verified. At the time of writing, the app had no reviews or reports of losses from users. UniSat, a popular Bitcoin wallet provider, operates as a browser plugin and allows users to access their wallets on the go via their PCs. This warning comes almost a year after UniSat experienced a double-spend attack, where BRC-20 assets were stolen due to a codebase bug. BRC-20 is a token standard used for creating fungible assets on Bitcoin’s network and has become a $3 billion market since its introduction.
