TON Society and HumanCode Introduce Palm Scanning for Identity Verification
The TON Society has entered into a partnership with AI company HumanCode to integrate a system for verifying identity.
As per a recent announcement by the TON Society, a total of 1 million TON, with an approximate value of $5.9 million, has been set aside to serve as an incentive for individuals who complete the verification process. This allocation will be distributed among TON Society members who authenticate their identity by utilizing palm print technology. Those interested in joining the community can do so by connecting their wallet.
HumanCode will be supplying the technology for human palm scanning, offering a swift and highly accurate method for verifying real individuals. The goal of this partnership is to address the increasing issue of bots and introduce web3 identity to the Telegram platform.
The value of the Toncoin (TON) token has surged by 10.5% to an all-time high of $5.90, resulting in the token’s market cap reaching $20.2 billion.
Furthermore, in March, TON developers revealed plans to distribute 30 million TON to users participating in ecosystem projects. Distribution of the coins to various users commenced on April 1.
A similar technology for personal identification was put forth last year by Worldcoin, a cryptocurrency project that utilizes iris scanning to confirm identity in exchange for the distribution of tokens free of charge. However, since its launch in July 2023, the project has come under scrutiny in countries such as Germany, France, the U.K., and Kenya due to concerns about the collection of user biometric data.
