The Sandbox aims to boost the sale of LAND by leveraging Black Mirror and The Walking Dead.
In an effort to revive interest in the virtual realm, The Sandbox metaverse is introducing a fresh virtual community known as Cinerama.
With Cinerama, individuals have the opportunity to purchase and transform their digital properties into spaces for collaboration, idea-sharing, and the creation of immersive, interactive movie experiences.
Cinerama boasts more than 400 digital land plots available for purchase. In total, the platform has successfully sold 70% of its over 165,000 LAND NFTs.
This new district will feature renowned American films, including popular titles such as The Walking Dead, Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders, and Cheech and Chong. The Sandbox has also partnered with esteemed production companies such as Skydance, recognized for their work on Top Gun and Terminator, as well as Lionsgate.
However, the announcement did not significantly impact the price of The Sandbox’s native token, SAND. As of the time of writing, the token has only experienced a slight increase of 0.93%, bringing its value to $0.417. Nevertheless, trading volumes have seen a substantial surge in the last 24 hours, rising by 125.49% to reach $224 million.
It is worth noting that in September, the Binance NFT Marketplace ceased its support for non-fungible tokens on the Polygon network and stopped accepting staking of The Sandbox. Users will be required to withdraw their corresponding assets from the platform.
Since September 26, users have been unable to bid on LAND NFTs on Polygon in order to earn rewards. Furthermore, users are no longer able to purchase or list Polygon NFTs on the platform. Any affected listings will be canceled, and the assets will be returned to the users’ accounts.
