Starknet Plans to Distribute 700 Million STRK Tokens to 1.3 Million Users through Airdrop

The Starknet Foundation team has made an exciting announcement on February 20, 2024. They have decided to conduct an airdrop to distribute native STRK tokens to 1.3 million users. A total of 700 million STRK tokens have been allocated for this airdrop, which accounts for 7% of the overall supply of 10 billion tokens.

To be eligible for the reward, users must have conducted five or more transactions over a period of three or more separate months, with a total value of at least $100. Additionally, they must have had a balance of 0.005 Ethereum (ETH) or more in their wallet prior to November 15, 2023.

Apart from these criteria, several other individuals and groups will also be eligible for the airdrop. This includes participants of the ECMP program, Starknet developers, StarkEx users, Ethereum developers, EIP authors, Ethereum stakeholders, Ethereum Protocol Guild members, and GitHub developers. Users have until June 20, 2024, to claim their entitlement to the tokens.

In early December 2023, the Starknet team announced their plan to distribute 1.8 billion STRK tokens among the project’s two ecosystem committees. A portion of these funds will be utilized for the initial distribution, while the remaining half will be used to establish a revolving fund. Out of the 1.8 billion tokens, 900 million STRK will be allocated as return funds for community members. To oversee the distribution of these tokens, the Starknet Foundation will establish a dedicated committee that will reward users for their “vital transactions on the network.”
