Rug pull concerns arise as AssangeDAO raises suspicions with unusual transfers

Concerns are being raised regarding possible rug pulls and the transparency of AssangeDAO’s financial practices as a result of transfers from its address. AssangeDAO gained attention for its association with Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, a platform that publishes classified information from anonymous sources. Formed by supporters of Assange, the campaign raised over 17,400 ETH in crypto donations, including a contribution from Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. However, recent on-chain transfers have raised doubts about AssangeDAO’s transparency. A 100 ETH transaction from AssangeDAO’s address has raised concerns of a potential “soft rug pull” as the recipient of the funds seems to be directly linked to the decentralized autonomous organization. An analysis conducted by SlowMist and RescuETH revealed that AssangeDAO has transferred the majority of its funds to various addresses, including crypto exchanges like Kraken and Coinbase. The organization has also sent over 1,000 ETH to unknown smart contracts, distributing the funds across multiple addresses. SlowMist emphasizes the importance of transparency in DAO operations and notes that the recent fund transfers have raised questions about the ultimate destination of the funds. Investors are advised to exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence before engaging with AssangeDAO. AssangeDAO has not yet issued any public statements on the matter.
