POKT Network broadens blockchain data accessibility, unveiling three new gateways.
POKT Network has taken a significant step in expanding its decentralized infrastructure by launching three new Gateways in collaboration with Developer DAO, Porters (backed by Raid Guild), and Chainstack. This move is aimed at providing developers with improved access to over 60 blockchains, aligning with POKT Network’s strategy to extend API accessibility across the web through its Universal RPC Base Layer.
In a press release shared with Crypto.news, it is highlighted that the addition of these Gateways is a crucial development for POKT Network and its ecosystem. It will enable them to offer reliable and cost-effective data access solutions, benefiting developers and businesses in enhancing application quality and user experience.
Dermot O’Riordan, Director at the POKT Network Foundation, emphasized that these Gateways are similar to Layer 2 solutions as they enhance scalability and enable builders to connect directly to a scalable and dependable decentralized infrastructure. O’Riordan further added, “By accommodating access and demand on an unprecedented scale, we are not only expanding the capabilities of our network but also laying the foundation for a future where access to any large open data source is unhindered, secure, and universally available.”
Gateways allow various businesses to provide access to POKT Network’s infrastructure without the need for direct maintenance, promoting a decentralized business model. This structure aims to reduce market entry times, lower operational costs, and redirect focus towards enhancing customer service.
POKT Network has been rapidly expanding its Gateway offerings since its inception, going from one Gateway to six in just seven months. This reflects their strategic effort to improve network capacity.
Daniel Olshansky, Head of Protocol at POKT Network, explained that this strategy allows for a clear division of responsibilities. Protocol participants focus on infrastructure maintenance, Gateways ensure performance, and users gain access to reliable and affordable services.
The collaboration with Developer DAO, Porters, and Chainstack holds great potential for driving network growth and fostering innovation. Developer DAO, for example, aims to reinvest RPC revenues into public goods, highlighting a model where technological advancements serve the common good. Porters and Chainstack bring technical expertise and significant volume potential to the partnership.
Looking ahead, POKT Network is preparing for the Shannon Upgrade scheduled for the summer of 2024. This upgrade aims to simplify integration for RPC providers and projects, making it easier to access data across different blockchains and AI. The upgrade is expected to support a wider range of use cases and encourage collaboration within the decentralized data infrastructure space.
