Pavel Durov unveils latest blockchain functionalities on Telegram
Pavel Durov, the creator of the popular messaging app Telegram, shared his vision for the future of the TON cryptocurrency during the Token2049 conference in Dubai. Durov outlined several ways in which ordinary Telegram users can utilize Toncoin (TON), starting with the introduction of payments for advertising on Telegram channels. From April 19 onwards, channel administrators will be able to receive payments in TON for running ads.
Furthermore, users will soon be able to leave tips in TON for administrators, with content creators receiving a share of the earnings. The purchase and sale of stickers on Telegram using TON as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will also be possible, with sticker artists receiving 95% of the proceeds. Additionally, Telegram will introduce mini-applications that allow users to purchase content using cryptocurrencies. Users will also have the ability to send TON to their contacts through the messaging platform.
Durov also revealed that Telegram users will soon be able to log into their accounts using cryptocurrency wallets, providing a more secure and decentralized login option. Furthermore, users will have the option to register the rights to their account names, allowing them to sell the names if desired.
Durov emphasized that all of these new features and innovations will be accessible to all users, without the need for any programming skills. This ensures that the benefits of the TON cryptocurrency are available to everyone.
In recent news, TON has been included in the list of blockchain networks that support the largest stablecoin by market capitalization, USDT. Speculation about the integration of USDT into the TON network first arose in early April, when Durov and Tether’s Paolo Ardoino announced their joint participation in a crypto conference in Dubai.
In other news, Toncoin has surpassed Cardano in terms of market capitalization and reached a new all-time high. Stay updated with the latest news by following us on Google News.
