Parallel, the NFT card game supported by VanEck, will soon be available on the Epic Games Store.
Parallel, a science fiction trading card game that utilizes non-fungible tokens (NFTs), is set to be added to the Epic Games Store (EGS) following a successful funding round that raised $35 million. The developers of Parallel made the announcement on their official X account on April 3, revealing that the integration with EGS will allow players to download the game directly from the platform. While no specific timeline was provided, players can already add the game to their wishlist. This news comes shortly after Parallel raised $35 million from investors such as Distributed Global, The Operating Group, VanEck, Solana Ventures, Base Ecosystem Fund, and Amber. In total, the sci-fi NFT card game has raised $85 million from investors including Paradigm. Since its launch in 2021, Parallel has been in open beta, giving players the chance to collect, trade, and interact with unique in-game assets represented as NFTs. The game’s storyline revolves around humanity’s attempt to escape to space following a global energy crisis. Parallel is the latest addition to Epic Games’ collection of crypto-related games on its marketplace, joining titles like Shrapnel, a blockchain-based game inspired by Call of Duty. In December 2023, Epic Games Store clarified its policy on blockchain-based games, stating that it would not prohibit them on its platform, even if they had previously received an “Adults Only” rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
