NFT Auction Sees Iconic Dog Photo from Dogwifhat Meme Coin Sold for $25k

An NFT of a dog featured in the logo of the Dogwifhat meme coin is up for sale for a staggering $25,000. The dog’s supposed owner, who has become the face of the Dogwifhat (WIF) meme coin, has put up a well-known photograph of the dog for auction as an NFT item. The dog was originally named Chi-Chi but was later changed to Achi. The famous picture, which serves as the logo for the Dogwifhat meme coin, was allegedly taken two months after the dog’s birth on November 17, 2018.

The auction has been ongoing on the Foundation website for several days, but it only caught the attention of the crypto community on March 15 when the bids reached astonishing amounts. Users are now willing to spend several Ethereum (ETH) on a picture of a dog wearing a pink hat. As of now, the highest bid stands at 6,942 ETH, which is equivalent to over $25,600 based on current rates.

Earlier in March, the Dogwifhat project community managed to raise over $703,000 to display the dog symbol of the WIF meme coin on the screen of the MSG Sphere entertainment complex in Las Vegas. According to the Wif-sphere platform, the fundraising campaign collected over $300,000 within the first 24 hours and has now surpassed $700,000.

The hype surrounding WIF has been ongoing for several months, fueled by its rapid price increase and market capitalization growth. Since its launch late last year, WIF has become the fourth-largest meme coin by market capitalization. The excitement surrounding Dogwifhat continues to be fueled by stories of traders who have made significant profits by investing minimal amounts in the token.
