Litecoin’s transaction volume exceeds 200 million transactions
On December 22, the Litecoin network achieved a significant milestone by reaching its 200 millionth transaction. This highlights the impressive growth of the network, which has processed over 10 million transactions.
In a recent announcement from Litecoin (LTC) on December 21, the cryptocurrency, designed to facilitate fast, secure, and cost-effective transactions, revealed that it had more active addresses in the previous 24 hours than both Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) combined. A total of 1.4 million on-chain transactions were recorded in a single day.
This news comes in line with a report from IntoTheBlock, a market intelligence platform, which indicates that Litecoin’s activity has been on the rise. Since the beginning of December, the number of daily active addresses for Litecoin has consistently exceeded that of Ethereum.
As of now, the current value of Litecoin stands at $72.10, reflecting an 11.1% change over the past year, according to CoinMarketCap.
The continuous growth of this altcoin can be attributed to the anticipation of increased promotion once a Bitcoin ETF is approved next year, according to Shan Belew, a prominent advocate for Litecoin. Litecoin, closely associated with Bitcoin, has already experienced a surge in its network valuation, reaching the thousands.
