Former President Trump’s mounting legal troubles continue as he unveils a fresh mug shot NFT.
Former President Donald Trump has made headlines once again with the release of his latest NFT collection, the ‘Mugshot Edition.’ This collection features a notorious mug shot of Trump taken after his arrest last year for allegedly conspiring to overthrow Georgia’s election results.
The announcement was made on Dec. 12, 2023, through Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social. The NFT has quickly gained attention and gone viral on X, with crypto.news curating some of the most notable reactions to this unexpected move by the former President.
The NFT collection consists of 2,024 unique pieces, each representing a portion of the suit Trump wore during his mug shot in Georgia. Interested buyers can acquire these NFTs by purchasing 47 of them, priced at $99 each.
In a video posted on Truth Social, Trump expressed his enthusiasm for the collection, stating, “It was a great suit, believe me, a really good suit. It’s all cut up, and you’re gonna get a piece of it.”
The release of this NFT collection has garnered mixed reactions from the cryptocurrency community. While some individuals have shown great excitement, others have approached the news with skepticism. Nevertheless, many are eagerly participating in this unique opportunity.
This is not the first time the former President has ventured into the world of NFTs. In August, the blockchain intelligence platform Arkham Intelligence discovered a crypto wallet associated with Trump. At that time, the wallet held a balance of $2,821,575, which has now multiplied by more than five times due to current market valuations.
Furthermore, in August 2023, Trump disclosed investments ranging from $250,000 to $500,000 in various cryptocurrencies, indicating his growing interest in the digital asset space.
Amidst all the buzz surrounding Trump’s latest NFT collection, it is worth noting that Melania Trump, the former First Lady, has also released her own NFT collection designed to benefit foster children.
