Deutsche Telekom partners with Subsquid as a node operator for data indexing
German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom MMS has collaborated with Subsquid to enhance the data lake by operating network nodes.
Deutsche Telekom, a leading provider in Europe, has partnered with the decentralized protocol Subsquid to manage the data lake through network nodes. According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the telecom behemoth headquartered in Bonn announced that a subsidiary has commenced operating its infrastructure to “contribute to the data lake by running worker nodes,” which have been operational “since earlier this summer.”
Dirk Röder, head of Deutsche Telekom’s web3 infrastructure & solutions team, commended Subsquid’s solution as transformative for web3, emphasizing its potential to unleash blockchain data’s full capabilities for developers and users alike. “With our robust enterprise-grade infrastructure, we enhance the network’s security and scalability, laying the groundwork for Subsquid’s decentralized Data Lake technology,” Röder stated.
Marcel Fohrmann, co-founder of Subsquid, noted that the partnership signifies a “new level of credibility and security not only for our network but for blockchain technology as a whole.”
Deutsche Telekom has also been actively participating as validators for various blockchain protocols including Polygon, Ethereum, and Polkadot. For Subsquid, established in 2021 by Dmitry Zhelezov and Marcel Fohrmann, this partnership reinforces their commitment to addressing challenges associated with blockchain data accessibility and the high costs of data retrieval. Initially tailored for Polkadot, Subsquid has expanded its scope to Ethereum, Flare, and introduced a beta version for Solana.
