Crystal, a blockchain analytics company, names former executive from Ripple as Chief Executive Officer
Blockchain analytics firm Crystal has announced the appointment of Navin Gupta as its new head. Gupta, known for driving growth for Ripple in the MENA and South Asian markets, will replace Marina Khaustova, who has taken up the role of chief operations officer at Crystal. With Gupta on board, Crystal aims to expand its blockchain intelligence solutions to a global audience of regulators, virtual asset service providers, traditional finance sectors, and cryptocurrency stakeholders. Gupta stressed the importance of enhancing intelligence products to meet the evolving needs of financial regulators in the face of increasing digital asset adoption. Before joining Ripple, Gupta held various positions at financial giants HSBC and CitiBank for almost 20 years, spanning regions such as the US, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, and India. Brian Brooks, former head of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and current Bitfury Board member, praised Gupta’s appointment, seeing it as a strategic move to address the growing demand for compliance tools. Crystal, a subsidiary of Bitfury Group, specializes in providing analytics tools and services for tracking and analyzing blockchain transactions, particularly in the context of compliance and anti-money laundering efforts.
