Circle and Overdare Collaborate to Introduce Metaverse-Compatible Programmable USDC Wallets
Circle, the stablecoin issuer, has joined forces with Overdare, a venture backed by Krafton, to expand the capabilities of programmable USDC wallets. In a blog post on February 26, Circle announced its strategic partnership with Overdare, a metaverse project established by game publisher Krafton and technology company Naver Z, with the aim of enhancing mobile user-generated content. The partnership entails the integration of Circle’s programmable wallets, a wallet-as-a-service solution, into Overdare’s platform, enabling game content creators to receive USDC payouts directly through the platform. The collaboration aims to ensure transparent revenue distribution across multiple platforms. Overdare plans to leverage the technology for IP trading and USDC revenue payouts, streamlining asset management for creators transitioning to web3 platforms. The global launch of the Overdare platform is scheduled for the second half of 2024, although specific dates have not been disclosed. Overdare, unveiled in September 2023, is a non-fungible token (NFT) mobile game that allows users to generate content similar to Roblox. The game utilizes Unreal Engine 5 and incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) tools for content creation, with further details yet to be revealed.
