Aptos partners with Google Cloud to enhance web3 gaming adventure
Aptos Labs, the team responsible for the layer-1 blockchain, has formed a partnership with Google Cloud to expand the range of games available with web3 capabilities. Google Cloud, renowned for its extensive cloud services, is aiming to integrate gaming into the web3 landscape by collaborating with Aptos Labs, the developers of the Aptos blockchain. The partnership will see Google Cloud support Aptos’ latest venture, Aptos GameStack, a unified platform for incorporating blockchain elements into video games. With the help of Google’s resources, Aptos aims to enhance its solution by integrating analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning products, and web3 game tools. Aptos GameStack is expected to include various products, such as access to Unity APIs for digital wallets, transactions, non-fungible token (NFT) collections, and other web3 elements. The development kit will also enable developers to implement web2 sign-on scripts, allowing integration with users’ existing social networks like Facebook or Gmail. This collaboration comes at a significant moment in the web3 gaming sector, as the total value of web3 gaming tokens recently surpassed $30 billion for the first time in years. According to Edward Wilson from Nansen, this growth can be attributed to a shift in investor activity towards higher-risk investments, leading to increased exploration beyond traditional cryptocurrencies for potential returns. The upcoming Game Developer Conference is expected to further stimulate developer interest in web3 gaming, contributing to the growing excitement surrounding gaming tokens.
